Research the range of contemporary issues teenagers face today. In a 500-750-word paper, choose one issue (besides teen pregnancy) and discuss its effect on adolescent behavior and overall well-being. Include the following in your submission:

1. Describe the contemporary issue and explain what external stressors are associated with this issue.
2. Outline assessment strategies to screen for this issue and external stressors during an assessment for an adolescent patient. Describe what additional assessment questions you would need to ask and define the ethical parameters regarding what you can and cannot share with the parent or guardian.
3. Discuss support options for adolescents encountering external stressors. Include specific support options for the contemporary issue you presented.

The discussion topic for this week is your impressions of the characters and the stresses in their lives in the moment of the play. Think about the characters as you first see them when the play opens (Act 1). What strikes you most? What is stressing the character out and how is he/she handling it? What seems important to him/her? Those of you who have finished the play can also contribute ideas from later on in the play. Did you sense of the character change as you read further?

Use examples from your own life to illustrate and define when you or someone else represented a manager, a leader, a first follower, and a subordinate. Take a stab at defining the key distinctions between these roles, and then illustrate with personal examples when you had a manager that was not also a leader, or a leader who was not actually your manager.
